“Ice Cream is exquisite – it’s a pity it isn’t illegal.” ~Voltaire
One of the first things I do when reading a new blog is check out the “About” Section. I mean, who is the person behind the magical recipes? Well, here is your answer…
About Me
My last name is Sugar, and I am addicted to sugar.
That’s right.
I. Love. Sweets.
All things sweet, ice cream and cupcakes especially, but I do not discriminate against cookies, popsicles, brownies and cake.
Armed with a new found sense of free time (I recently completed my Master’s in Public Health) and an “old found” love of cooking all things sweet, I decided I should chronicle this exciting business venture. So, I took matters into my own hands and bought a three Cuisinart Ice Cream Makers (this one), began testing recipes, and soon enough, started selling these delicious creations!
About 365 Scoops
After returning from Argentina, one of the ice cream capitals of the world, I decided that we needed more deliciously creamy, silky and high quality ice cream here in NYC. This site is dedicated to sharing those recipes, and to ultimately achieving the goal of universal access to gourmet ice creams!
Here at 365scoops we believe in good, old fashioned ice cream free of preservatives (and ingredients that you cannot pronounce!) We mix only the best organic milks, creams, sugar and eggs, with a variety of unique flavors to create artesanal, custom-made ice cream. You want it? We’ll make it. Just ask.
I’m so tempted to purchase the ice cream maker (because it is on sale) and follow along! Making homemade ice cream sounds much more exciting than picking it up at my local grocery store. Although, I do love outings to Pitango and Sweet Green (best gelato and tangy yogurt spots in DC).
May I suggest a marriage of chocolate and mint for your next ice-capade? Maybe add some Mint Milano cookies…I’ve seen Girl Scout Grasshopper cookies done time and time again, but never Mint Milanos (Pepperidge Farm). I’m happy to taste test for you…ya know, only to assure that you have the proper balance of ingredients.
Given the above comment and the fact it is still Girl Scout Cookie season, there seems an entire untapped theme to explore…thin mints, samoas, tagalongs, the lemon sandwiches, etc.. I think a comparison of which yields the best ice cream flavor is a very important endeavor for this quest.
PLEASE do ice cream with alcohol and many types of alcohol. STAT. I will eat it this very second.
I dream about ice cream, especially during NY’s hot summer months, but cannot eat dairy or soy. Any good recipes for a delicious home-made alternative? Thank you!
Look no longer! 365scoops’ non-dairy ice cream is here to rescue you!

I love this website! My husband and I are not big on cakes, pies and cupcakes, but love pretty much anything kind of frozen dessert. So you can bet I’ll be back often!
Thanks so much for reading! I too love your blog, great, healthy recipes.
